The Puffin Experience
Looking for a unique weekend experience? Well, we think we have the perfect solution – book a package to see the beautiful Puffins and other birds around the Saltee Islands when you stay at Kilpatrick Glebe.
Each year in late April and May, the puffins return to the beautiful Saltee Islands, located 5 km off Kilmore Quay in Wexford (and 25 minutes from Kilpatrick Glebe) and are a wonderful place to get close to nature. The 120-acre Great Saltee Island, is home to thousands of seabirds including Puffins, Manx Shearwaters and Ganets. The puffins leave in August, and so spend much of July fishing in preparation and to feed up their pufflings as much as possible.
